Here at ADS Transitions, we have some of the top dental brokers in the field, and we’d like to take a moment to explain what we can do for you.

Jeremy Brown, JDPresident

With over 13 years of professional expertise in Dental Practice Transitions, Jeremy Brown is a strategic player on the team at Watson Brown. After joining the firm in 2008, Jeremy then went on to graduate from law school in 2015 while simultaneously maintaining his role within the company. Jeremy handles all client communications, the ongoing marketing efforts of each practice, and the strategic locating of qualified buyers. His knowledge of digital marketing communications, and successful experience in the field, positions him as the expert for smooth and profitable practice transitions.

Out of the Office, Jeremy follows college football and spends his time investing as a Scout Master with Boy Scouts of America. Jeremy and his wife, Audrey, have six beautiful children.

Ryan Brengman, JDVice-President

Ryan J. Brengman, J.D., is the President of Shea Practice Transitions, P.A.

Since 2001, Ryan has successfully transitioned hundreds of dental practices, including practice appraisals, practice sales, practice buy-ins, associateships, and practice buy-outs. Ryan is a licensed attorney and dental practice broker with extensive background in business planning, a member and Executive Committee member of American Dental Sales, as well as a frequent lecturer to professional associations, study clubs and dental schools. Shea Practice Transitions has been recognized as the Upper Midwest’s foremost practice transition specialists.

Matthew SchererTreasurer

For more than 16 years in the dental industry, Matt Scherer has assisted practicing dentists, dental schools, suppliers and others throughout the US. As an active member of American Dental Sales (ADS), he has experience with practice transitions, startups, partnerships, refi’s and consolidations.

Matt brings a vast experience in management from serving in various management roles with a large bank. He gained intimate knowledge of the specific financial considerations dentists must take into account. Matt has been involved in over 550 dental transactions totaling in excess of $226 million.

Doug SellanMarketing Director

Doug joined PMA Practice Transitions in 2019. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from Franklin University. He brings over 30 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry with extensive expertise working with dental professionals. He resides in Westerville and Loveland, Ohio.

Doug has assisted thousands of dentists, veterinarians, optometrists and physicians with practice transitions, startups, commercial real estate, construction projects and refinancing and consolidations.

Doug has spoken at numerous Local, State, National Conferences and Societies throughout the US. He has presented at countless Universities, Alumni Associations and Local and National Sales and Service Organizations.

Doug provides an immense amount of experience in management and business development from serving in numerous management and leadership positions. He was part of a very small group of individuals that founded one of the industry’s largest healthcare lending groups.

Frank Brown, JD, LLMBanking Director

Frank is the primary broker for Watson Brown where their team provides exceptional combination of accounting, marketing, legal, and tax expertise. They are the only firm in the United States with both a tax attorney and dentist. Frank went into the private practice of law as a tax attorney where he handled his first dental practice transition in 1990. After several years in the private practice of law, Brown ventured out into the private business sector. He was involved in the transportation, insurance, finance and medical supply distribution industries.

Frank is a past president of ADS. He is a frequent lecturer at dental conferences, national seminars, and dental schools. He has published articles for the Texas Dental Association’s Journal, Dental Ecoomics, Houston Dental Journal, and is a contributing author in the newly released dental practice transition book, The Affluent Dentist.

Paul ConsaniMember-at-Large

Paul is the President and CEO of a six-broker group serving the Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, and Hawaii dental communities. Established in 1996, Consani Associates Limited is the largest regional broker in the Pacific Northwest. Paul is also a noted national speaker. His speaking engagements include, the National Association of Healthcare Consultants, the American Dental Association Executive Committee, and the Practice Valuation Study Club. Paul is a frequent speaker for Dental Associations on the topics of the dental workforce, associateships, partnerships, and practice transitions.

Peter AckermanMember-at-Large

Peter J. Ackerman, CPA, CVA, CEPA is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with degrees in Accounting, General Business and Finance. In 1996 Mr. Ackerman started ADS Midwest, a firm that provides practice brokerage, appraisal and consulting services to dentists and the related specialists throughout the Midwest. Under his leadership ADS Midwest has become the largest and most respected practice transition firm in the Midwest. In 2010, Mr. Ackerman secured the endorsement of the Illinois State Dental Society. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Valuation Analyst, Certified Exit Planning Advisor, licensed real estate broker, registered business broker, past president of ADS Transitions, past chairman of Professional Management Consultants Association, member of National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, Exit Planning Institute and Practice Valuation Study Group.

Preston Lovelace, JDMember-at-Large

Preston earned bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and applied mathematics at Hampden-Sydney College and his JD and MS in chemistry at the University of Illinois. He is a registered patent attorney and is admitted to practice law in Louisiana. Preston began transitioning dental practices when he joined ADS Lovelace and Associates in 2005. He frequently speaks to State and local dental associations, and was featured at the 2013 ADA Annual Session on practice transitions.

Timothy Giroux, DDSPast-President

Hailing from the greater Chicago area, Dr. Tim Giroux established his own dental practice in Scottsdale, Arizona, upon graduation from Creighton University School of Dentistry in 1983. Relocating to Northern California with his wife, Mona Chang, DDS (LLUSD ’84) upon selling his highly successful practice after 15 years, Dr Giroux brings a unique perspective and personal experience in dental associateships, practice start-up, sales, and work-back situations to serve and assist you during your exciting transition! Dr. Giroux writes the widely-read monthly Ask the Broker feature, is a regular contributor to Dental Economics, has been a feature speaker for CDA, as well as providing numerous dental transition presentations.
