Hill, leader of the McGill & Hill Group, has over 30 years of experience working with general dentists and specialists. His experience sets him apart from other appraisers. Hill is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) of the American Society of Appraisers. He is also a member of the Institute of Business Appraisers and a founder/charter member of the Practice Valuation Study Group. Hill has worked with clients all across the United States; he provides planning for dental practice transitions, partnerships (buy-in/buy-out), practice mergers, associateships/compensation analysis, and financial forecasting. He emphasizes achieving comfortable, successful outcomes through the use of tax efficient structures. These tax efficient structures provide a financial structure that benefits all parties by being both affordable for purchasers and fair to sellers. Hill works hard, thoroughly examining income distribution formulae, so that each doctor involved in the practice transfer can comfortably achieve his or her goals. Hill is also an active speaker and writer; he frequently addresses national, state, study clubs, and other professional groups. At the request of the American Dental Association, Hill has recently completed work on a book about practice transitions; the book is available through the American Dental Association’s website. He has also been published extensively in many publications on subjects relating to selling or buying a dental practice. Prior to his work in this position, Mr. Hill held an administrative position at Baylor College of Medicine, and before that, St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital. He received his M.S.A. from the University of Houston in 1976 and has participated in professional graduate training in the specialties of Valuation Theory and Application as well as Real Estate Law.
