Dr. Avery graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry, where he also completed additional years of specialty training as a periodontist along with receiving his Ph.D. in electron microscopy while at Baylor. After serving on active duty in the U.S. Navy, Dr. Avery established his private periodontal practice in 1973.
In 1993, Dr. Avery made the transition away from private practice, and since then he has been using his experience and expertise to help fellow practitioners in New Mexico value and sell their dental practices. He has published articles about dental practice sales and other related subjects in Dental Economics magazine. Dr. Avery is a member of the American Dental Association, the New Mexico Dental Association, and the American Academy of Periodontology.
