Ted graduated in 1977 from Western Michigan University. Today he is a certified public accountant, a certified business counselor, and a certified financial planner. Since 1989 he has been organizing seminars for aspiring dentists and those who work in the dental industry, and he has presented to the Michigan Dental Association, the University of Michigan dental school, and the University of Detroit–Mercy dental school. He is a member of several professional organizations including AICPA, ADCPA, the Financial Planning Association, MACPA, and ADS Transitions. Ted specializes in practice valuation, tax and financial planning, partner transitions, and in providing personalized, innovative business consulting for dentists.
Ted formed DBS Professional Practice Brokers in 1993 in order to help dentists looking to buy or sell dental practices. In 1996 he helped found American Dental Sales, which maintains a network of independent dental practice brokers and consultants across the country to better facilitate practice transitions for dentists.
